If you’re dreaming of a documentary style engagement session, this is what it can look like. Rather than focusing on perfectly posed photos, these sessions are all about slowing down, being present, and capturing your relationship as it naturally unfolds. Noah & Michaella’s evening together was the perfect example of that. It was simple, meaningful, and true to them.
Noah & Michaella’s engagement session was everything I love about photography. We didn’t make many plans for their photos, other than spending some time in their first home together.
As we wandered around their backyard, I noticed a little canoe (at least I think that’s what it’s called). They take it out every now and then, so we decided to bring it down to the water. I followed along as they got everything ready, and I’m completely in love with the images that came from it.
We did a bit of gentle posing here and there, but for most of the session, I got to hang back and simply document. It was the sweetest summer evening.
