calm,
Between me and my second shooter, we bring six (or more!) cameras to every wedding. I work with a blend of digital, 35mm film, and 120mm film cameras—each format adding its own unique texture and look to the story. They all capture moments with a unique perspective.
There’s something truly special about a gallery that pairs the crisp, clear quality of digital with the nostalgic, dreamy, sometimes imperfect aspects of film.
I even love the varied strategies behind each camera. I love the slow, intentional rhythm of shooting on film just as much as the speed and versatility of digital. Why limit the tools?
Most of my favourite images are unposed, spontaneous candids. Over time, I’ve learned there’s a real strategy behind capturing them.
When I’m documenting a wedding day, I rarely put my camera down. I’m always watching—paying attention to gestures, glances, small interactions that could easily go unnoticed. I look for those small moments between people that speak to something greater. My job is to move quietly, anticipate what’s about to unfold, and be ready at the right moment.
A strong candid isn’t just a snapshot of something sweet. It draws you in. It’s composed with intention, using the same principles artists rely on across all mediums—light, timing, and perspective.
Collaboration on a wedding day happens in two ways.
First, I almost always work with a second shooter. Together, we’re able to capture more. It allows my cameras to be in two places at once and tell a fuller, more layered story.
Second, and just as important, I collaborate with you. Every couple brings their own style and story to the day. I believe wedding photography should reflect that—it should feel personal, not like a template. I'm always looking for the details, moments, and dynamics that make your day yours.
That’s what makes a wedding gallery meaningful. That’s what makes it special.
