Film Photography
Looking for a Winnipeg film wedding photographer? You’re in the right place! Film is timeless and nostalgic and carries the look of a memory. Film photography has all the feels you want to look back on for years down the road.
As of right now, I only offer packages with the option to add 35mm film photography (although I hope to one day offer fully film packages with more film options). So, if you’re looking for the benefits that digital photography has to offer, alongside the dreamy, vintage feel of film photography, I would be the wedding photographer for you! Take a look at what can be captured in a simple setting, with simple fabrics, and simple movements, on film.

If you’re in the other camp, and you don’t know why you should add film to your wedding photography package, here are some good reasons…
The Feeling of Film Photography
Wedding days are chalked full of memories you’ll think about over and over again. Looking back on your wedding is going to feel nostalgic. Film photography evokes nostalgia. I love how timeless it looks. Looking at wedding photography caught on film always reminds me of skimming through my parents and grandparents wedding albums. It’s classic and vintage and timeless.
Film photography requires time and intentionality. It slows a wedding day down in order to capture something raw and authentic. It represents everything I love about weddings.

Film Colour
Film photography has amazing colour.
Emulating film colour on a digital image isn’t easy because 1) its not truly authentic and 2) film colours change based on the film stock you use (the type of film you load into a camera), the lens you use, the light you shoot in, how you meter your subject, and the list goes on. So if you like the way I edit (my editing is very film inspired), you’ll love film even more because its the “real deal”. The colours are so pretty, and it’s exciting to see some of the unpredictable elements like a light leaks and sun flares that might just make an appearance in your image.
As a Winnipeg film wedding photographer I know that many wedding venues in the area border on or include those gorgeous prairie fields we all know and love. I absolutely love the way film captures prairie grass moving in the wind and the fabrics of wedding attire moving with it. If you love nostalgic dreamy imagery, just wait until you take wedding film photography in a field. It’s such a pretty way to document yourself, in the place you grew up, on one of the most special days of your life.

The Softness and Imperfection of Film
My last point in adding film to your wedding photography package is that, film feels soft. Digital photography is so great because cameras have gotten so sharp and so smart! But sometimes that sharpness and precision isn’t what we want! Sometimes a little bit of softness, a little bit of imperfection is just what we’re looking for to capture a real and raw moment. Sometimes a little bit of messiness can be pretty (:
My goal is always to capture feeling and emotion. I want your images to take you back to a moment. Film photography is so “in the moment”, and I absolutely love it. Theres no faking anything, or editing anything out to make something “perfect”. It’s simply real. Just keep scrolling for some examples!

If you’re really into film like me, and you want to add it to your wedding photography package, let me know when you contact me! I would be so happy to create some love filled, timeless images with you and your honey.
📸 Digital Images! Compare and Contrast!
Before you click off, keep scrolling to see what we were able to capture digitally! The way I edit is generally film inspired. Take note of the differences and similarities and see what you like! Both film photography and digital photography have their pro’s and con’s. That’s why I love using both to capture a wedding 😊 Take a look!
