In need of some realistic friend photo ideas?
Sometimes taking pictures with friends can be a struggle! To get a good outcome, you’ll need some posing ideas and a good photographer to guide you along! Here’s what I did for this cute snowy session!

Spin!
First thing we did was start out simple (; Spinning in a circle! To capture some motion, your photographer can go with a lower shutter speed 😊
It’s a super easy pose, and just a couple spins later, you’ll have some really fun, motion filled photos! And looks really natural! Cause who doesn’t randomly spin in a field with their friend from time to time 🤷🏻♀️

Rock!
Next I had the girls stand back to back and rock! Super easy to do! The nice thing about this one is that it doesn’t feel awkward in the moment (; How can you not laugh and smile when you’re falling over each other? This would be one of my favourite candid friend photo ideas 😊 It keeps things super light and fun.

Stand… and lose awareness
Next, never underestimate the power of standing. Okay, not JUST standing. It can be super awkward having a camera shoved in your face with no instruction. A good photographer will give you stuff to do!
For these, I got the girls to move their hair out of their faces and play around with their sweaters. I swear they look like models and they weren’t even trying! It helps a lot if there’s something other than the camera to focus on. If the photographer is paying attention, they’ll catch moments where the subject isn’t feeling self aware 😊 Those are my favourites. The easiest friend photo ideas are where the camera gets forgotten (;

Hug!
Of course, hugs are also a classic.
Play around with who’s looking at the camera! Cuddling up is super cute 😁 You can go serious or fun on these! Who knew you could be getting a hug AND look like a stone cold model. Wow 🤩

Run!
Another SUPER easy photo idea – simply running 🏃🏻♀️
A little tip – find a path! A quick google search will tell you all about leading lines. I won’t get super nerdy here, but trust me, running down a path will *generally* be more interesting than running in an empty space.

Throw Something! Carefully (;
Last but not least… if there’s snow… throw it 😄 I mean, please be careful. But moving objects around (not just snow) can add more of a story to the image 🙂 Bring along props, or interact with your environment! Just don’t take out the camera/photographer in the process.

If you need more friend photo ideas, you might be able to get some inspiration from couples photos! Not all of them translate into friendship photos, but some of em’ work (; Take a look!
Thanks for hanging with me!
